Turkki families of Valkjärvi Parish in Finland

Two separate Turkki families inhabited two neighbouring villages (Pentsilä and Päivilä) in Valkjärvi Parish. It is assumed, however, that both families mentioned above are descendants of the Mäntyharju Turkki family. In 1870, J. M. Salenius wrote the following in an opus named Valkjärven pitäjän kertomus (In english : The story of Valkjärvi Parish) on page 33 :

" The Turkki family comes from Mntyharju. There came those 3 men; one settled down in Siparila, the second one in Pentsilä and the third one in Päivilä village."
